Something to think about

Can you believe it's been over a year since my last blog? I don't know why I don't write these more often. I got plenty to say but it's mostly just self relevant things and opinions. I also thoroughly enjoy writing and... if I may... think i'm pretty okay at it. I can't stand punctuation though. I try and pick up the Long run on sentences with many hyphenated extensions and Em dashes just like ---------------- this. Writing with movement and bounce, not some sterile matter-of-fact jargon stuffed down your gullet. How can anyone retain that stuff? Anyway, it doesn't matter 'cuz I'm not here to talk about dead authors. They can all cram it.

I just wanna write down what I'm thinking now. Something I remind myself with pretty often is my capabilities. My body's senses... all 5 of em'! (plus the other 28). Being able to tell my brain to wiggle my toes and my body's immediate response to it. Now take that to a larger scale. Moving individual muscles, then your entire foot, then leg, then torso, then arms and head, all of a sudden i'm in a full sprint, all without having to think about it. It's absolutely incredible. Humans are capable of so much. We can traverse every single landscape on earth and even somewhat out of our own atmosphere. Obviously there's limitations, but y'know what I mean.

I am so very thankful for my body and mind. It brings me such joy, I actively stop and remind myself how fortunate I really am. How fortunate I am to have my full cognitive functions with a body of active faculties to respond to what I am thinking. The more I think about it the more astonishing it becomes. I am so blessed. There truly is nothing holding me back. And I don't mean this as a diss to anyone without full control of their mind or body. I just mean this as a point of reflection of what we have to be thankful for --- What do we have to appreciate? Most often it is things. I am guilty too. I pride myself on stuff, items, objects, Doohickeys, thingamajigs, and just shit. meaningless shit.

It's not only realizing how awesome our minds and body are but we must also choose to use them. Wayyyy too often I am just sitting on the couch looking like a sack of potatoes. But as of recently a new voice inside my head will tell me "You're wasting your body, your time, your gift" BAM! I gotta change that. Now, I'm not trying to be some special-forces-david-goggings-funsucking-drone. But I try and get down and knock out 100 pushups before the day ends. I'll crank at least 30 pull-ups/chin-ups at my printshop in between stuff. Why? because I should, I must, but more importantly because I CAN ! How thankful I am that I can. That I can do anything. It is the only right thing to do.

Man, Oh Man! I can go on and on! To think there's like a million other reasons your body and mind are the most incredible things. Seeing someone you love, hearing a laugh, smelling some awesome food, kicking the same rock to and fro school, learning new skills, understanding other languages. These are just shavings of what's to be appreciative of. I just wanted to get this out there in case you're looking for something to be grateful about. I can continue on about the wonders of our anatomy but you get the jist. Anytime you don't think you got something going on, wiggle your toe. It's a miracle.
